Schellenberg Wittmer is pleased to announce the addition of three new Partners and one Counsel to our team.
On September 1, 2024, Dr. Stéphanie Chuffart-Finsterwald joined us as a Partner. Stéphanie leads our Intellectual Property, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and Life Sciences practices in Geneva. With extensive experience in these fields, both at the dispute resolution and strategy setting levels, Stéphanie’s expertise will significantly bolster our ability to meet the complex needs of our clients. She holds an LL.M. from Columbia Law School and a Ph.D. in International Law from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies.
Dr. Simone Nadelhofer and Matthias Gstoehl will join Schellenberg Wittmer as Partners on October 1, 2024.
Simone is an expert in handling complex domestic and cross-border proceedings and internal and government-led investigations, with a focus on white-collar and financial crime, including corruption, fraud, money laundering, cybercrime, ESG and workplace violations. Her expertise also extends to international sanctions, asset recovery, and international mutual assistance in criminal and tax matters. Additionally, Simone regularly represents clients in commercial disputes before civil courts. She holds a PhD in Law from the University of Lucerne.
Matthias brings extensive experience in complex domestic and multi-jurisdictional proceedings and (internal) investigations. His expertise spans white-collar crime, including corruption, fraud and money laundering, asset recovery, insolvency, international mutual assistance, international sanctions, and ESG litigation. Matthias primarily focuses on contentious banking and finance related matters, capitalizing on his strong background in that industry. He also regularly advises clients on disputes across various sectors, including healthcare, natural resources, sports, and trusts. He holds an MSc in Finance from London Business School.
Both Simone and Matthias will be based in Zurich, thus further strengthening our firm’s leading Dispute Resolution and White-Collar Crime practices.
Petra Spring joined Schellenberg Wittmer on August 1, 2024, as Counsel and Co-Head of the Employment Practice Group in Zurich. Petra is a highly skilled attorney-at-law in employment law, global mobility, and immigration law, serving both domestic and international clients, including publicly listed companies from a multitude of industries. Her expertise covers all HR-related aspects of complex M&A transactions, including national and international TUPE transfers, collective redundancies, social plan negotiations, pre- and post-restructuring processes, and due diligence reviews. Petra also frequently assists clients with cross-border employment setups, global mobility, staff leasing, and Swiss immigration matters. She holds an LL.M. from the University of New South Wales, Sydney. Prior to joining Schellenberg Wittmer, Petra led the Swiss employment law team at a Big Four firm.
