Our Brazilian Desk experts, which include Portuguese speakers with long experience of the region and deep insights into the economic ties between Switzerland and Brazil, bridge the language and cultural differences to deliver first tier assistance.

Our well experienced advisors support Brazilian entrepreneurs or investors entering the Swiss market as a gateway to Europe. We provide them with our strong industry knowledge in key

sectors such as banking and financial investments, private equity, the automotive industry, engineering, real estate and construction, agriculture, renewable energy, consumer goods, the maritime industry and logistics, IT and technology. Our focus at all times is on pragmatic, business-focused advice that supports the client's objectives.

We also provide comprehensive advice to Swiss or European companies seeking to expand into the Brazilian market, thanks to our long-established contacts in the region.

With one of the most established litigation and arbitration teams in Switzerland, we support Brazilian clients in international civil or criminal disputes and offer them strategic advice and advocacy, be it through negotiations, mediation, adjudication, arbitration or court proceedings.

Our Brazilian Desk also brings the necessary expertise together to advise individuals on their estate planning and personal relocation to Switzerland, where we can assist them from planning stage to final relocation.

  • Swiss lead counsel to Odebrecht & Braskem, one of the major construction companies in Brazil in the context of the Petrobas investigation. We represented the client in domestic proceedings to achieve a closely coordinated, conflict-free (no contradictory decisions; elimination of risk of double jeopardy) resolution spanning the three main jurisdictions involved (Brazil included) in the criminal prosecution. The tri-lateral solution agreement was regarded as a landmark novel approach and resulted in the largest corruption settlement worldwide
  • Swiss lead counsel to a Swiss listed private bank in the acquisition of a bank from a large leading Brazilian banking group. The combined bank is now one of the largest private banks. Our advice includes all post-transactional disputes
