Student job: Document review (variable activity rate) – On demand, Geneva

We are looking for several law students interested in gaining insight into the initial stages of a lawyer's work on a case: thoroughly investigating the facts.

As part of our SW team, you will mainly be assisting in the firm's fact-finding process in the context of complex internal and government-led investigations, regulatory and compliance matters as well as white-collar crime proceedings.

In particular, you will be participating in large-scale document review, using cutting-edge LegalTech. The position also includes a variety of tasks related to the administration of large document productions, such as document translation, pseudonymization or redaction.

Upon hiring, you'll enter into a six-month framework contract for on-demand work. Throughout these six months, you won't have a set activity rate or regular employment. Instead, the firm will reach out to you at the start of each mission, which typically spans from a few days to a few weeks, to verify your interest and availability. You have the freedom to accept or decline each mission. If you choose to accept, your availability—including your maximum activity rate and university schedule—will be considered before confirming your assignment to the mission. Missions may be extended or shortened based on the developments of the case. Outside of confirmed missions, you are not required to keep your time reserved for the firm.

We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • You are currently studying law, or international relations with a focus on law, in Switzerland
  • You are currently completing your Bachelor's (and have completed at least two semesters), your Master's, or your PhD
  • You are fluent in French and have excellent command of English (at least B2 level), other languages are an asset
  • You are detail-oriented and enjoy tasks which include problem-solving through logic, pattern recognition, or sequence solving
  • You have some flexibility in your personal organization and are reliable
  • You are able to work on the firm's premises in Geneva, as remote work is not an option

We look forward to receiving your full application by February 15th 2025 sent by e-mail to students.gva@swlegal.ch. Kindly submit your curriculum vitae, cover letter, work certificates, and/or letters of recommendation as a single PDF file. Applications that do not meet this requirement may not be considered.

SW is committed to maintaining an inclusive workplace.
